Who we are
HBW Trading Limited t/a House Buyers Wales (“House Buyers Wales”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal information you share with us. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Our company registration number is 16120536 and our ICO registration number is ZB835802. Our registered office is House Buyers Wales, 126 Bute Street, Cardiff, CF10 5LE.
What information we collect
- Details you give us — your name, phone number, email, the property address, and anything you tell us about your situation when you complete our offer form, by phone, or in any other communication with us.
- Address lookup — when you start typing an address we use Loqate (GBG) to suggest and complete it.
- Technical & usage data — collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy), including pages visited and how you reached the site.
How we use it
- To prepare and discuss a no-obligation cash offer for your property.
- To contact you about your enquiry by phone, email or text.
- To measure and improve our website and marketing.
Our lawful bases are your consent (when you submit an enquiry), our legitimate interests in responding to you and running our business, and where relevant, steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
Who we share it with
We only share your data with trusted providers and professionals who help us run the business and progress the sale of your property — including our enquiry-routing and CRM tools, our address-lookup provider, and analytics and advertising platforms.
Where you are selling a property, we may also share the details needed to move the sale forward with the solicitors and conveyancers acting on it, and — where it helps you sell — with trusted partners such as surveyors, valuers and auctioneers. We share only what each party needs for that purpose, and always with the goal of helping you sell your property. We do not sell your personal data, and we will never pass your details to unrelated third parties for their own marketing. Some providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry details only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry — including our communications history, so we can pick up where we left off if you contact us again — and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Once no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
